Tuesday, 19th May - Microsoft Teams - 18:00 - 19:00 (BST)

This webinar explores how and why AAI can support emotional and social development across diverse client groups, while also examining the conditions required for these benefits to emerge. It highlights relational mechanisms, emotional processes, and environmental factors that underpin effective AAI, alongside the ethical responsibilities involved.

Rather than presenting AAI as a universal solution, the session supports professionals to make informed, evidence aware decisions about when animal involvement may be beneficial.

Duration: 50 minutes
Format: Live webinar with reflective prompts and practice examples
Audience: Professionals working in therapeutic, educational, care, and health settings who use, or are considering, Animal-Assisted interventions (AAI)

What You'll Learn:

  • Describe pathways through which AAI may support emotional regulation and social development

  • Identify situations where AAI may enhance therapeutic or educational outcomes

  • Recognise when animal involvement may be inappropriate or ineffective

  • Reflect on the role of relationship, environment, and structure in AAI

  • Apply a balanced framework that considers both human outcomes and animal wellbeing

Hosted by:
